NATURponty

the Pontypridd Nature Reserve project

Led by the artists Catrin Doyle and Anne-Mie Melis, in collaboration with many other community activists and young people, NATURponty brought the people of Pontypridd together to remind ourselves that we are nature and ask questions of our role within it.

In January 2024 we shared our explorations and musings in an exhibition set in the greenhouse of the Canolfan Calon Taf community gardens. On display were a series of photographs made by Catrin Doyle in collaboration with Lucy Purrington, entitled 'Biodiversity Carnival'. Special thanks to young emerging artist Lucy Powell for their collaboration on the costumes and locations!

Alongside the art exhibition, Catrin and Anne-Mie worked alongside young people to create and publish a ‘Nature Manifesto' to share the ideas of the Pontypridd Nature Reserve project.
