NATURponty
the Pontypridd Nature Reserve project
NATURponty – the Pontypridd Nature Reserve project is a participatory art project that recognises Pontypridd as a valuable ecosystem made up of all living organisms: wildlife, plants and people.
Led by the artists Catrin Doyle and Anne-Mie Melis, in collaboration with scientists, community activists and young people, we aim to inspire and empower the people of Pontypridd by collectively engaging in discussions around biodiversity and climate change, and playing with possibilities for sustainable living side-by-side with nature through creative activities.
NATURponty is a partnership project between the artists Anne-Mie Melis & Catrin Doyle, Pontydysgu and Addo Creative and is funded by the Arts Council of Wales through the Connect and Flourish scheme. Additional support comes from Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, Pontypridd Town Council, Welsh Water, Growth, Mind & Thrive, and Menter Iaith Rhondda Cynon Taf.
